DR. BARBARA CAMPBELL

Principle Investigator

Dr. Campbell is an Associate Professor whose expertise is in molecular microbial ecology and bioinformatics, including both genome and metagenome/metatranscriptome analyses in estuary and coastal marine environments. She oversees the management of the project and supervises the postdoc.

MAX ORTIZ

Post-Doctoral Associate

I'm part of a multidisciplinary project investigating the functional redundancy of microbiomes in a variety of ecosystems that range in habitat complexity. I'm establishing the bioinformatics pipelines to study the link between habitat complexity and functional redundancy in both host associated and environmental microbiomes through multi-omics approaches.

NICHOLE GIANI

PhD Student

I will be looking at the effects of functional redundancy in different soils

DINUKA JAYASURIYA

PhD Student

I will be working on Marine microbial
degradation pathways of hydrocarbon and how these pathways facilitate the functional redundancy in
marine ecosystems.
